FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
Q. Can awkward obstructions and landscape restrictions be overcome,
e.g. trees, sloping ground, etc?
A. The shape of the deck can be customized to accommodate the
immediate landscape and obstructions of any type. A standard
post is used to support all deck heights. In addition we construct
all stepped access points on site for safety and adaptability.
Q. Is the decking Fire Resistant?
A. Fire risk is a key concern for all Holiday Home parks and
Caravan sites. All Supreme-installed decks utilize SUREDECK™ uPVC
components which have been fully tested and carry a Class 1Y
fire rating. In addition, we offer a galvanized steel sub frame
that is non-combustible and provides greater strength and durability;
compared to timber versions.
Q. If I choose a coloured finish, will
it fade over time?
A. The SUREDECK™ system is made from
a specially-formulated grade of uPVC. When specifying a colour
option, the plastic componentry is not laminated but is coloured
throughout. As long as it is maintained correctly by occasional
cleaning with warm soapy water to keep it looking good, there
will be a minimum of colour fade due to natural exposure to sunlight
and weathering.
Q. Can I ask for co-ordinating colours and will it cost me
more if I do?
A. Supreme decks are available in a choice of four attractive
colours – White, Beige, Green or Brown. They can be mixed
to meet individual preferences (e.g. green decking and beige
fencing) to create a co-ordinated look at no extra cost.
Q. Why is choosing the galvanised steel sub-frame option better
than the timber version?
A. Galvanised steel provides greater strength and durability
with added reassurance against the risk of fire. In addition,
galvanised steel is not affected by moisture. It will not swell
when wet nor is there any danger of expansion, rotting, staining
or rusting.
Q. What about providing disabled access and will the Supreme
deck be strong enough to take a wheel chair?
A. Supreme can provide several means and styles of access to
your Holiday home or caravan, from simple steps to walkways with
gradient ramps. As a benchmark for our expertise in supplying
disabled access systems, Supreme is proud to be named as the
preferred supplier for North Cornwall Council. Our products and
fitters have passed all the relevant checks (e.g. Occupational
Health) to supply and install a safe and adaptable ramp to suit
all your needs or level of mobility.
Q. Will it be safe to walk on the deck when it is wet?
A. Yes, our uPVC deck board is an embossed system so not only
is it comfortable to walk on but also the anti-slip treatment
provides extra safety in all weather types.
Q. How long does it take to install a deck and do I have to
be present?
A. Installation time is normally less than a week (weather-permitting).
We also use our own generator so the job can be completed before
you arrive for your holiday break. Of course, if you want to
monitor progress of your installation personally you will be
kept fully informed by our site manager. Our skilled fitters
make every effort to complete the installation with the minimum
of disruption to you and your neighbours .
Q. If I have a lodge or my Park only allows timber decks to
be installed, can Supreme supply a complete wood deck?
A. Yes. We also install complete wood decking projects and
use either pressure-treated timber or hardwood. As with our uPVC
and galvanised steel sub frame products, a Supreme wood deck
always meets our high-standard build specifications.
Q. What does your guarantee cover?
A. Supreme Leisure gives a three-year installation guarantee
and the component manufacturers give a 30-year life term.
